EDE 3: Scanning, skiing and success!
The third annual EDE 3 course was a huge success. Forty adventurous individuals travelled to Sun Peaks, British Colombia Feb 2-3 to attend the largest EDE course ever.
Located at the beautiful Sun Peaks Grand Hotel we had 16 ultrasound machines, 15 instructors, over 30 ultrasound models, and plenty of fresh powder.
Amazing presentations were given by Ben Ho, Jordan Chenkin, Steve Socransky, Chuck Wurster, Andrew Skinner, Greg Hall, Andrea Unger, and Paul Hannam. Online, Tom Jelic put together a fantastic literature review to be followed by a Google Hangout discussion.
Bedside instructors also included an all-star cast of Ray Wiss, Chris Eddy, Martin Betz, Maja Stachura, and Mike Wolf.
Applications such as cardiac wall motion, shoulder exam, testicular, GI, pulmonary, regional blocks, volume assessment, airway and transcranial scanning were introduced.
Everyone had hours of hands-on scanning time with a large assortment of ultrasound machines courtesy of Fuji-Sonosite, Hitachi-Aloka, Seemore, Analogic, Philips, and Esoate.
Planning has begun for the next EDE 3 course. We hope to run two programs per year, one each in Toronto and Sun Peaks. If you wish to be on the notification list, send me an email. Otherwise, stay tuned to the blog for more information.
Great to hear that the conference was a fantastic success! We were so glad to be able to show the EDE3 Attendees our spacious conference facilities and our wonderful resort!
Thank you for considering Sun Peaks for your Western Canadian EDE3 Conference and on behalf of the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Conference Team, we look forward to welcoming you in 2016!
